Friends of Oakdale Cemetery will offer a Summer Series of Historical Walking Tours of North Carolina’s oldest rural cemetery given by various local historians - each giving their own personal twist to Oakdale's history. Tours will be the third Saturday of the month at 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. No Advance reservations – Admission is $8 per person, free to all Friends of Oakdale members. Participants should park outside the cemetery gates at the end of Fifteenth Street. Tours will be canceled if there is inclement weather.
