Greenberg. Cinematique Monday, July 12, 2010 7:30 PM - 9:20 PM posted by Cinematique Of Wilmington Contact: Cinematique coordinator, (910) 343-1640, whqr@whqr.org Roger Greenberg (Ben Stiller) is forty, works as a carpenter, and vents his anger in potent complaint letters about minor problems. He was once in a band and once had a breakdown. Now he agrees to return to Los Angeles, the town he left 15 years ago, and house sit for his more successful brother. Greenberg is stuck. Whether alone or with others, he is uncomfortable and unsettled and it is clear that he has not moved into real adulthood. His former band mate, a former lover, and his brother’s young, attractive assistant all could teach him if he would only let them. Stiller’s just right performance is a comedic star turn moving the film to a happier ending than one might expect. Written and directed by Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale) and with Ben Stiller, Greta Gerwig, Rhys Ifans and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
107 Minutes. Rated R.
