Frequently Asked Questions for InsiderInfo.us

What is the function of InsiderInfo.us?   InsiderInfo.us is a dynamic service designed to allow non-profit groups in our community to communicate with their members.  The primary content of our website is information about arts events in our community.

Who enters the information about what is going on with each arts group?  That information will be entered by a designated member of each arts group.  They can say what they want to about their event, and edit it as necessary.  They can enter information off into the future as far as they want to.

What services will InsiderInfo.us allow my group to have? There are three main functions of this service.  InsiderInfo.us allows your group to communicate to its membership a) its calendar of events, b) membership contact information and c) Newsletters.

What is the cost for a group to use InsiderInfo.us? Basic service is free to all non-profit groups. Certain extra features are available for a low annual fee.  (For example, there is a $500 annual fee for arts groups who wish to upload a photo to accompany their event description).  If the non-profit organization has their own website, we do require a link back to The Insiders' Guide, and to the InsiderInfo.us main page.

Can for-profit businesses use InsiderInfo to communicate with either employees or clients?  Absolutely.  For-Profit Enterprises are billed an annual fee of $500.  Businesses will only be able to communicate with those people who elect to join that businesses "group".  Businesses will have no ability to communicate with the entire subscriber base.  Only public arts groups have that ability.  InsiderInfo is a great way for businesses to develop and manage a physical and e-mail mailing list of prospects and clients.

Give me an overview of how this service works.  Basically, everyone who participates in InsiderInfo.us (hereafter called "Users") will receive an e-mail each Monday morning that will give them a brief listing of what is going on in groups they have an interest in for the upcoming week.  The listings are short, and consist of active links that take the reader to an expanded listing of each event.  Clicking anywhere in this e-mail will launch the InsiderInfo.us website where the services full functionality can be utilized.

Each regular Monday morning e-mail has a link that allows the user to update their weekly calendar.  Clicking anywhere on the e-mail launches a web page that looks just like the e-mail.   From this page the user has links to contact information for the members of each group, as well as the ability to add to or delete themselves from other groups.

Will participating in this service allow my personal information to be given to other people?  Absolutely not.  The site is designed so that a user gets to decide what groups they want to subscribe to, and what groups they want to unsubscribe from. Before subscribing to a group the user is told if others will be able to see their contact information or not.  If others in the group the user is joining are able to see their personal contact information, the user can decide, group by group, which information is shared.  For example, a user can decide that  members of their church can "see" their home address, and home, work and mobile phone numbers.  On the other hand, the user might decide that members of their book club can only see their home address and home phone number, preferring to receive communication f
